Optical Department Manager
Are you looking to use your opticianry experience in a manager role? 20Twenty Eyecare is looking for you!
This role is responsible for managing the overall performance of the Optical Department, including all staffing functions, day to day operations and achieving sales and service goals. This is a privately-owned operation with a focus on educating the patient and fulfilling their optical needs. We stress teamwork and are seeking a manager with experience and knowledge of all aspects of the optical process.
Sample Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementing frame board management
- Managing inventory
- Explores effective ways to grow the practice and increase profitability
- Help resolve any patient issues timely to ensure exceptional customer experience
- Responsible for managing, coaching and developing the optical staff
- Identify and provide motivation, training and coaching to individual optical staff members as needed
- Maintain office policies, inventory management and expense controls
- Develop staff work schedules and maintain staffing budget
- Assist in setting KPI and production goals for the optical KPIs. Track and report and meet regularly with practice managers to discuss performance and opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Technical expertise in vision care procedures, technologies and products
- Proactive leadership: the ability to motivate, coach, train and manage a team
- Customer Service: the ability to understand customer needs and ensure satisfaction
- Administrative abilities: effective inventory management, staff scheduling, workflow organization and record-keeping.
Required Credentials:
- High school diploma or GED or a combination of education and experience may substitute.
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in a related field.
- ABO Certified
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 year management experience preferred
- Minimum 3-5 year optician experience preferred

Optical Sales Associate

20Twenty Eyecare is looking for Opticians to provide eyewear to the patients of our practice. This includes all selling, fitting and dispensing of eyewear within the boutique. Delivering an exceptional purchasing experience to our patients is paramount, so our opticians work directly with the doctor(s) to develop rapport with our patients, ensuring connections with those in their care. This role can be fast paced, requires attention to detail and frequent patient interaction, so we are looking for candidates who thrive in this kind of environment and excel in providing compassionate care.
Sample Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with the ability to ask lifestyle questions and find creative solutions to individual vision needs.
- Merchandising and display of all frames in the eyewear boutique
- Place all eyewear orders and work with the lab for appropriate delivery
- Communicate delivery expectations to patients according to the practices dispensing policies
- Manage all warranty replacements for patients and product returns to vendors

Medical Technician

Sample Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and gather detailed and accurate medical and ocular history
- Assist the optometrist during eye exams and ensure each patient visit runs smoothly
- Perform pre-testing procedures such as visual acuity, auto-refraction, and eye pressure tests
- Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and ensure equipment is in working order
- Manage patient records and input data into our electronic medical record system with accuracy and confidentiality
- Order and track contact lens inventory to ensure timely fulfillment
- Help support the flow of the office and provide backup for team members as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on compassionate and respectful care
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage time and multitask in a busy clinical setting
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new technologies or procedures—growth mindset encouraged!
- Comfort working with electronic medical records and basic office software
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times
- A team-first attitude with a genuine desire to help others
